Central Coast Pilgrims

Central Coast Chapter of the American Pilgrims on the Camino

UPDATES AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Saturday, October 25th, 2025:  Meet up with Yvonne and others at 9:00am at the West Cuesta Ridge trailhead at the top of the Cuesta Grade.  This hike will be about 10 miles with about 1500 feet of climbing along hard-packed dirt, up to the television towers and back.  Note that this will be our last longer training hike of 2025 as the holidays approach.

Sunday, November 9th, 2025:  Please mark your calendars for our Annual Welcome Home potluck to be held Saturday, November 9th starting at 4:00pm.  This will be an RSVP event (invite to be sent as the date gets closer).  Join us for some fun Camino games and sharing.  All are welcome but especially those who walked a Camino during 2025. We would love to hear your stories! Special pins will be presented for all pilgrims that have walked the Camino since our chapter’s founding in 2022, and an additional gift will be given to all those in attendance.

Friday, December 5th, 2025:  Help us connect with past and future pilgrims by joining us as we walk and spread our cheer again in the 49th Annual SLO Holiday Parade through downtown SLO.  We will meet up before for a tailgate dinner at 5:00pm at the Merrill Lynch parking lot at 1020 Marsh St..  Sign ups for this fun event will be taken in November and at our Welcome Home potluck.

Welcome to the home page of Central Coast Pilgrims!

Our mission is to support pilgrims and pilgrimage for those living in the central coast area of California.  We are a volunteer organization that offers advice, encouragement, fellowship, and community to all who might be interested in pilgrimage, and the many people who have already made a pilgrimage.  We are passionate about the Camino de Santiago, pilgrimage, and walking. We love sharing our experiences with our local community and beyond.

We meet the first Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 800 Bello Street in Pismo Beach. We gather for fellowship, coffee and donuts until about 10:00 a.m., followed by a Camino-related presentation, start our walk around 10:30 a.m. for about an hour or so, enjoy lunch, and then walk back to St. Paul’s afterwards. Several past participants have told us that these walks "are almost like being back on the Camino", sharing steps, conversation, beautiful scenery and a meal with fellow pilgrims. Please also check our “Upcoming Events” section above for more details, as occasionally this schedule changes.
