Central Coast Chapter of the American Pilgrims on the Camino

UPDATES AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Saturday, April 5th, 2025:     Thank you to all who came out and supported our 17 new 2025 Departing Pilgrims as they received their shells and pilgrim blessings!  Nearly all of them are preparing for their first Camino...we are so excited for what lies ahead for them and can't wait to hear their stories and reflections upon their return!

Thank you Marcia for your informative and entertaining presentation about becoming a hospitalero, and Yvonne for sharing about the new training walk program she is leading for our group (more about that below)!  Rebecca's reflection about the scallop shell and its meaning for us Camino pilgrims was beautiful, and also thanks to her and Debbie for leading our beach walk, and to the diehards that joined us for our pilgrim meal afterwards.

Saturday, April 12th , 2025:  Some of you have asked for some longer training walk opportunities…this will be our first in a series of training walks. Meet at the Cuesta Ridge trailhead at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. Please rsvp to Yvonne (contact info in last email blast) or by the contact form on this website if you aren’t already on our list.

Saturday, May 3rd, 2025:  Join us for our regular first Saturday meeting.   We will be switching things up, however, and having our  meeting at THE AVILA BEACH PIER at 9:30am.  After some social time, we will have a presentation by Rebecca and Jeff about accommodating special diets on the Camino.  A walk and lunch will follow.  Hope you can join us!

Welcome to the home page of Central Coast Pilgrims!

Our mission is to support pilgrims and pilgrimage for those living in the central coast area of California.  We are a volunteer organization that offers advice, encouragement, fellowship, and community to all who might be interested in pilgrimage, and the many people who have already made a pilgrimage.  We are passionate about the Camino de Santiago, pilgrimage, and walking. We love sharing our experiences with our local community and beyond.

We meet the first Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 800 Bello Street in Pismo Beach. We gather for fellowship, coffee and donuts until about 10:00 a.m., followed by a Camino-related presentation, start our walk around 10:30 a.m. for about an hour or so, enjoy lunch, and then walk back to St. Paul’s afterwards. Several past participants have told us that these walks "are almost like being back on the Camino", sharing steps, conversation, beautiful scenery and a meal with fellow pilgrims. Please also check our “Upcoming Events” section above for more details, as occasionally this schedule changes.
